With our platform complete and the mechanics installed, it's now time to install the tile and coping.
There are many styles to choose from.   The most popular are precast concrete with a safety lip or round nosed brick with a ceramic tile waterline, and flagstone or moss rock coping with a natural stone waterline.   Other popular styles are moss rock walls with weepers, moss rock or gunite boulder waterfalls, stacked flagstone with spillovers, tile or brick faced raised beams. There is also cantilevered deck forms that bring the decking to the waters edge and numerous others.

Decking

Our next step is to install the decking around the pool. Decking also comes in many different styles and textures. The most popular styles include concrete with exposed peagravel, concrete with flagstone or brick overlay, and brushed concrete with a colored and or textured coating. Cast brick patio pavers over a stabilized surface (mortar), are utilized in neighborhoods that have a maximum concrete coverage provision within their deed restrictions.

Plaster

The last construction step is to install the pool plaster.   The most popular style is white, hand troweled to a smooth finish plaster.   Other popular styles include non-slip exposed aggregate finishes, such as Pebbletek or Diamond Brite, and smooth polished finishes like Hydrazzo.   Once the plastering is completed the pool is filling with water.

Once full we'll add the start up chemicals, start the filter pump motor and let it run a few days.   This is to filter the plaster dust and stabilize the water.
It is of the utmost importance that the new plaster is brushed several times daily for the first week or ten days.
